When did you start to organise this event? We started back in Dec 2008
 
Did you advertise, if so how, where? Yes, we put up posters put up locally, word of mouth, local news items in papers and loads of requests texted into local radio for things like "say hello to all the lads working hard getting the barn ready for the huge barn dance coming up on the 20 June etc". It was the only way we could get them to do it for free !!!!
 
What materials did you use? Banners, Posters, DVD, Balloons, Tshirts, Buckets, Big banner, t shirts, dvd playing all night etc
 
Did you use Facebook, Twitter, Paper Adverts? Yes, some of our families had it on their facebook, bebo etc.
 
Where did you put up your posters etc? Shops, workplace notice boards, chippers, local pubs etc. Everywhere we could.
 
How did you ask people to donate: My Charity, Cheques, Cash... Anyway they wanted, anything accepted. We had cover charge at gate of dance.
 
Did you manage to get any support form local printers etc? Yes, Cashins printers from Castlebar printed 1000 tickets for us free of charge.
 
Anything you could recommend to other Volunteers? Give value for money, We believe the race nights etc are dying out fast, if somebody gives you €20 the like to get something back now as the recession gets worse.
