Ireland has made a promise to the world’s poorest people: to spend at least 0.7% of our national income on aid by 2015.
That’s just 70 cents in every 100 euro.
0.7% is not just a number; it is investment in trained teachers and doctors, in more schools and hospitals, in people who can live their lives with hope and dignity.
Our aid promise is something to be proud of. Ireland must act now to keep it.
