Linda received this wonderful story from Pauline Kelly about her experience on last years blitz.
We asked Pauline could we share it with you. Thank you Pauline.

Hi Linda,

just had to get in touch to let you know what a fantastic week i had in Witsand S.A.  my faith has been restored in human nature. So many people coming together to give and not recieve anything in return was a great feeling. I was very nervous going on my own , as the journey was very emotional for me. the  last time i visited S.A. was with my husband in December 2009 , we had both decided to go on the Blitz  the following November. Liam was a larger than life charter and sadley passed away on 26th January 2010 very suddnley, so i did the trip for both of us and Painted enough houses for us both.  I cant believe how much energy i had to keep going all day, as i am a twice Cancer survivor I was worried i would not have enough stamia to do a good job. But i had someone very special to carry me for the week Liam, I was very pleased with the work I done and drew a certain strenght from it. I worked  with the Bottle Green team and what a great bunch of people they are, I was introduced to strangers and left friends, as i  have siad to everyone i know you should experience a Blitz  once in your life time . My experience was made more unique on the Friday of the hand over, everyone was busy putting the final touches to the house I asked if ther was anything i could do when John handed me a plaque to put on the outside wall, it was the wrong side up  so i thought it was a peel back stick on , i turned it over and it read Liam's Place, you could have knocked me over with a feather the lads knew nothig about Liam being dead. It turned out that John's friend Liam had died in January 2011 and this was in his memory, everyone was astounded that he had handed me the plaque to put up, I knew Liam would let me know he was with me I call this a God moment, and one that has a very positive effect on me since i have been home. i am busy thinking of what to do for my fundrasing for 2012 and look forward to going back. The work Naill and all the organizing team do are amazing and long may we all try to help the peoplle who survive living in the townships, nothing could prepare you for the reality of it all. My story and picture's have touched so many people and the name plaque has made it all so special. It was great to meet so many people from all walks of life with one goal in common what a unique orginazation  the Trust is.

Take care
Best Wishes
