The Royal Blue Team made the short bus journey to Witsand’s only creche on the 16th of November 2011. We were greeted by about 50 beautiful children ranging in ages from 3 to 6 years of age. Some were solemn faced at first at the sight of the team of blue shirted blitz volunteers. Others could not contain their excitement as they smiled and immediately offered hugs. They animatedly performed a few songs and then hurried to their desks to show us the colouring they had been working on. For the half hour we spent in the crèche we were struck by a spectrum of feelings. Their affection and innocence charmed each of us and the harsh reality of the world they live in reduced many to tears.

Our sunglasses and cameras were of great amusement!   Seeing their photos captivated them and the Royal Blue Team felt it fitting to compile a photo album of the creche visit and send it to Witsand to present to the children.

Hopefully with the help of each and every volunteer who took photos on the crèche visits throughout the week, we can hand over an album containing at least one photo of every child in the crèche that they can treasure.
