During the 2010 Blitz in Wallacedene, Irish volunteers were taken on various crèche tours during the week. One of the crèches that was visited was Lusanda Educare. The volunteers were appalled at the conditions of the crèche and desperately wanted to make a difference. The existing carport/shade structure was in a state of disrepair and the volunteers decided to put money towards the construction of a new carport.

In March 2011 construction began on the new carport. The MHI yard staff worked on the project and after 2 Saturdays of work the job was completed.

Mavis, along with her crèche staff, are incredibly happy with the new carport and are most appreciative of the donation they received.
