On Wednesday 27th April 2011, Paul O’Connell of Munster and Ireland rugby was on hand to launch the official website of the Hammer & Trowel Charity Tag Rugby Festival to be held on June 11th 2011 at the grounds of UL Bohemian RFC at Annacoty Limerick.

The festival is the brainchild of four veteran volunteers with the Niall Mellon Township Trust, a charity which builds houses in the townships of South Africa. Mary Collins of Castletroy in Limerick said “We were delighted when UL Bohemian RFC agreed to allow use of their grounds in Annacoty to run this event, every year it gets more difficult to come up with innovative fundraising ideas for what is a very rewarding experience, helping to build homes for people who live in timber and metal shacks, it’s no way to live let alone try and raise a family… “

Robbie Kenneally of JJ Kenneally Jewellers, Wickham Street Limerick are sponsoring the prizes, Robbie is a two year NMTT veteran volunteer himself and was “more than happy to help out for what is a very worthy cause”
