Thank You to our American Volunteers!
A very warm thank you to our American Volunteers who made the extra-long journey to Cape Town this November to take part in the Blitz. It was such a pleasure to count 6 fellows and their programme co-ordinators from the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation amongst this year’s 614 Volunteers. Oneishia Herring, Greg Tinch, Ify Ike, Waverly Gordon, Kamara Jones, Bianca Oden and their programme co-ordinators Ervin Johnson and Kerry McKenney, worked tirelessly on the Lime Green and Grey Teams, helping to ensure that this year, 825 people who previously lived in shacks, will spend Christmas in their new homes.
Also a million thanks to Heidi Weidemueller, Kerri Tiernan and Kathy McGee who travelled again for the 2nd time from the United States. Absent this year was the fourth member of the group Trish Teser who thought that getting married and going on honeymoon with her new husband was more important than travelling on the NMTT Building Blitz…cheek!
