A personal message from Catriona Nugent

Hi All,

Some of you may already know that I've signed up as a volunteer with the Niall Mellon Township Trust for 2012. I'll be traveling to South Africa next November to build houses in the townships of CapeTown for some of South Africa’s poorest people.

I need to raise €4,500 in order to take part, with the majority of the funds going towards building materials for the houses and also covering my travel and accommodation.

For my first fund raising attempt I've rounded up 15 friends to join me in doing the Runamuck Challenge on the 3rd March 2012. This is a 5km cross country event over a wet and mucky course with obstacles like bale jumps, tarzan swings and tyres!! I’ll also be holding a Fund Raising function in the Clonmel Park Hotel on Friday 8th of June – so save the date and further details will follow.

I would really appreciate any donations you can spare, this is a fantastic cause and to date the Niall Mellon Township Trust has built 18,300 homes housing nearly 100,000 people.

I’m really looking forward to being a part of it and thank you in advance for your support!
