Arriving on site today it is hard to comprehend that in just a few short hours we will be leaving the people of Witsand. It is also hard to comprehend that in the few short days we have been here we will have changed so many lives for the better.

The last few hours of work on site are always hectic, finishing off as much as possible making the house we will hand over as perfect as possible. The sight of a street of newly painted houses is wonderful.

When 2.00pm comes along we must get the area tidied up as it is time to meet the family who will move into their brand new home. The lady moving in has 7 children only 3 of them live with her as her shack is so small. The others are with relatives. As we watch her receive the keys from our foreman Padraig, the emotion of this simple exchange is overwhelming. As a group we have given our all this week, but the reward of seeing this family receive  the gift of a new home, a new chance and a better future makes us realise that all the aches and sore muscles are nothing to this special moment.
